Game Quality Matters more than Company Culture for Activision Consumers (ATVI)

Over the past week, an internal controversy has put the game developer Activision Blizzard (ATVI) in the headlines…So far, Activision game players haven’t been paying much mind according to LikeFolio data.

Although Sentiment Mentions have taken a turn for the negative in recent months with Happiness down -5% QoQ and -7% YoY, the recent decline doesn’t represent a significant anomaly for ATVI, not yet at least.

On a 7-day moving average, Consumer Happiness has dipped down to just 60% positive. This is still above the all-time-low for 2021 (58% positive) when the company botched a new game feature release.

Still, ATVI shares are down nearly -8% this week based on the negative reports.
